Benjamin Seroussi is a young cinematographer and this is a new project of his involving men, black hills and wild sand. It has something silent and astonishing at the same time.

This is John Cage’s “Sonata 1” from “Sonatas and Interludes for Prepared Piano”. I love it. The video is directed by Pavel Ruminov.

Eleven beats

Eleven beats is a new place where I want to post eleven photos that inspire me just once every month -on the eleventh day of each. I wish this to be a kind of a virtual collage, just a representation of my inner vibe during those days of the season.

[I wish I could credit all the photos but its damn bad that I have no evidence and no memory of where I have found them. If the copyright holders want them removed, just let me know, ok? I really want to set clear that there was never a bad intentsion; I just admire the pieces of creation that have been brought to life -even when still! Thanx a lot]

Hope you enjoy it.

Men in the cities

Robert Longo used charcoal and graphite on paper and created in 1979 this body of work known as “Men in the cities/Men trapped in ice”. I came across it recently; I think it is interesting as it captures with tension and agony the essence of the growing human.

Is he a falling man? What is he fighting for?

WE ARE NOW is a new project we initiated this week. It is a bimonthly online publication with ideas of young people in free style. The first issue for January-February 2010 (the pdf of which is already online at the official website) focuses on ::now:: and explores reality as it is shaped today through forty writings in greek and english. The talented Konsept83 is the Art Director while the editorship is due on me.

I hereon post some photos by Alkis Konstantinidis that were captured before and during the performance presentation of WE ARE NOW to the public, on Monday January the 4th at Alekton Theater, Athens downtown. The night and the vibe was superb.

[Special thanks to everyone involved. Jump on and stay tuned; WE ARE NOW is a work in progress.] And a Happy New Year!
